Back for the 5th year, Bite Week is where taste meets hands-on experiences. Four days of tasting and education including chefs’ dinners, demonstrations, classes and cocktail experiences hosted at locations throughout Bend. Bite Week is your opportunity to learn new flavors and techniques from some of Central Oregon’s best.

Chef Dinners

Unlike any other culinary offering in Central Oregon, Bite Week is an opportunity for home cooks and food enthusiasts to learn from some of the region’s best chefs and purveyors in more than two dozen events. It’s a celebration of Central Oregon’s summer growing season and an extension of the Bite of Bend.

 

6/27: Pronghorn Resort: A Summer Offering of Central Oregon Bounty

With 20,000 acres of pristine wilderness surrounding it, Pronghorn Resort is one of the experiential jewels of Central Oregon. Chef Kevin Linde has elevated the quality of the culinary experience there to match. Take this opportunity to drive the winding road to Pronghorn for a outstanding dinner, showcasing locally sourced lamb from Imperial Stock Ranch, produce from Windflower Farmers,and fresh Oregon seafood, in a spectacular setting.

6/28: Rockin’ Dave’s Backstage Lounge: Southern Comfort Food

And you thought Rockin’ Daves just kills it with Breakfast and Lunch? Come and find out what he is really capable with Dinner in his new Backstage Lounge!

Join Rockin’ Dave and his southern chef Josh Wormsley as they indulge you 5 courses highlighting  the delights and comforts of his native South. Dinner will be served with complimentary sweet tea. Whiskey, wine, local micro brews, and cocktail pairings available for purchase with each course.

6/29: Deschutes Brewery:  Chef’s Dinner at the Mountain Room

Please join Deschutes Brewery for a tribute to the Pacific Northwest and the amazing bounty it offers. At this beer paired dinner, Deschutes will focus on the concept of both raw goods and produce traveling a full circle and coming together to create amazing fare. A four-course meal will be created by Deschutes’ Executive Chef Brian Kerr and thoughtfully paired by Assistant Brew Master Robin Johnson. Both will be part of the evening, providing insight into beer, food, and the journey these items take before making it to your plate and pint glass.

6/26: Whole Foods: Rosé, s’il vous plait! 

Join Whole Foods Market Bend in a class presented by in house Cheese Specialist and native Bendite Katie Cobb celebrating the advent of a favorite summer drink and cheese pairing.

Crafting the perfect pairing of rosé and cheese for your summer celebration need not be difficult.  Join the Whole Foods Market Specialty Team for an evening of rosé and cheese tasting.  Our wine connoisseurs will select five of the finest rosés in the market, pair them with the perfect cheeses, and talk you through how the magic is made.  It will all take place in our airy café, so don’t miss it.

6/29: Navidi’s Olive Oils & Vinegars: Keeping it Exciting…And Easy

Every year since the inception of Bite Week Kim Cressman, manager of Navidi’s Bend, has taught an outstanding class that can basically be described as making your culinary life exhilarating and easy at the same time. Yet again she will show you how to create appetizers, salads, beverages, entrees using flavored oils and vinegars, all in an hour and a half. You will leave with recipes, and excited to share your tricks with friends and family. Let the party begin!
