An integral part of the booming culinary scene in Central Oregon for over thirteen years, Juan now calls Worthy Brewing home as the head chef at their downtown location, Taps and Tacos. His amazing knowledge, experience and expertise has been integral to Taps’ booming success in their freshman year. Challenging himself to take street food to a new level with a Oaxacan flair, Juan’s dishes boast bright, colorful and complex flavors sure to please the pickiest of palates. His first professional culinary position was as a prep cook in a commercial kitchen, however, his cooking lessons began long before that in his mother’s kitchen. When asked what his culinary inspiration is, Juan fondly and proudly mentions his mother, a pasty chef in Mexico. When Juan isn’t in the Taps and Tacos kitchen whipping up amazing creations, you can find him with his wife and two children hiking or riding bikes.
Shawn McCoy | Sous Chef, Worthy Taps & Tacos
Since 2000, Shawn has trained and worked in the Pacific Northwest creating imaginative and exciting cuisine that focuses on using local ingredients. After two years at Brasada Ranch in Bend, Shawn joined Worthy Brewing in April 2018 to lead its private events menu. In his early culinary days, Shawn owned and operated a wine based BBQ sauce company sold online and at Duck Pond Vineyards in Dundee Oregon. When not creating beautiful cuisine in the kitchens at Worthy, Shawn enjoys spending time with his son hiking, surfing, fishing, and watching The Big Night on Netflix.
